BRAZIL

As well as being an agent for Four Wheel Campers from the US, Camper Duaron produce their own demountables in a range of four models. Although varying in size, they are all hard-walled and GRP-built and share a number of distinctive features including a two-piece door with circular 'porthole', an octagonal window in the overcab area, and a brilliant white GRP interior. If you've got the time there's an 8-minute guided tour, in Portuguese, on YouTube.

CHILE

Coati is a new Chilean company - too new even to have developed its own website yet - manufacturing a streamlined, GRP demountable camper. Although at the time of writing (December 2014) production has not begun, both the camper and the website are expected to be launched early in the new year. In the meantime further information can be obtained from alex.leitner@gmail.com.

SOUTH AFRICA

AC Motorhomes' website is not overly informative but AC manufacture a wide variety of motorhomes ranging from expedition vehicles to luxurious panel van conversions. Their one venture into the demountable market is the Carry 3000, a rising-roof model which they claim "will fit on most double and single cabs".

• ahaweb.co.za
AHA ("Anywhere Hassle-free Accommodation") Outdoor Systems manufacture a demountable unit that is part tent, part hard-side camper. Very compact but definitely made for a temperate climate.

• alu-cab.co.za
As its name implies Alu-Cab manufactures a variety of aluminium bodies and canopies for pickups and other vehicles. The range includes pop-top (or "flip-roof" as they call it on the site) Alu-Campers for a number of different pickups though the manufacturers declare their own preference for Toyota Landcruiser "bakkies", whatever they are!

GR Travel Tops produce a range of roof-top tents, canopies and camping trailers aspects of which come together in their demountable AutoTop 'AT-C'. In common with other South African manufacturers' products, it's part tent and part camper and undoubtedly designed for a warm and dry climate.

TURKEY

Website of Turkish manufacturer Pino Karavan whose range includes one demountable camper, the Pino Pick-up. There is an English language version of the site (click the UK flag at the bottom of the page) and Pino have UK representation which you can find here on the European dealers page.
